Balancing Law and Grace: The Woman Caught In Adultery

Updated: Nov 23, 2023

What John 8 teaches us about the relationship between Law and Grace

One of the greatest pitfalls in this walk of life "Torah Observant" or whatever you want to call it, is we become well practiced in casting stones, and in many cases we tend to loose site of the reality of grace. Even worse we often abandon our mission to share the Gospel because we treat people as “unclean” rather than recognizing the harvest that is ready for reaping. I was very encouraged in our chat within our local fellowship this week to see folks being active and engaging in sharing the Gospel, and others spurring them on to continue on in that good work. We need to do more. Today, I want to talk about some common pitfalls to be aware of in our lives as we continue to mature in our faith and become more effective fishers of men. Then we will discuss a practical example from Scripture to reflect more deeply on the principles discussed in this teaching. For those who say, “I know I know, we need to share the Gospel” hang in there with me. We are going to dig deeper than just sharing the Gospel, and I believe today there is something that each one of us can glean and take with us as we go this week and become more effective witnesses to the Gospel of truth. This teaching was delivered at Pursuing Truth Ministries. If you would like to find out more about that ministry click here.
